THE BED

A bed, some pills on the pillow... it reminds the littte chocolates put on the pillows of the chic hotels to welcome you. But this, is is this really a welcome?

It is traumatic every fisrst recovery in the psychiatric session of an hospital. New bed (a hospital bed), new friends (hospital friends), new everything. You are confined in a new world where the only certainty is that you are wrong.

The parallelism I would like to mention with this work of art is with an hotel room.

The analogy arrives visually istantly, but the brain has to take his time to understand what's behind a false freedom (of an hotel room) and what is really representing. The pain, the solitude, the feeling of being wrong and misunerstood. The analogy between a room you can always leave and a room where you are costricted to remain.

It's hard, maybe harder than what a single bed with some drugs can represent, but it's the only way I found to make it even a little comprehensible of what this journey often means.

Maybe a fallen attempt, maybe a genius idea, it will be the critique to tell; I, myself, as the artist, have no choice in representing my journey and hope to make someone, even one person, understood.
