RYTHM 0.0
Rithm 0.0 is an homage to the immense work of body art done by Marina Abramović in 1974, Rythm 0.
In her work Marina let a group of people do to her everything they wanted, they could do something nice or kill her... anyway the work explored what can be called human nature and the white rabbit of their advice; in fact, after a first moment of indecision, in the performance a group of people surrounded Marina to protect her against who was trying to make her several hakes.
In my revisitation there would not be a white rabbit, instead there would be a new component: the repression.
The performance would take place in a room with only me and a person (repeated for 10 times). I would remain still and he could do anything to me.
Note: The only exeption would be that in my table there would not be anything lethal, but tools that hurt yes.
After that I would repeat with 10 other people, but this time instead at the end of the performance, for every thing done to me I would do the same to them.
The last experiment would take another 10 people and for every thing done to me I would do the same for 30 times to them.
Note: 30 is not casual, is referred to the number of innocent people killed in WWII for every nazi killed in the region of Italy.
This escalation of nothing, one and 30 is what makes the performance significant. Sun Ashley wants to explore the repression of the men when they have to face their faith (or in alternative view the law), which rewards who commits good acts and punishes the others. By doing so he wants before everything discover the true human nature, not seen and judjed by anyone, and then the behavior of those who know will have the same faith as the artist.
